If you want to rank in search engines, you will need backlinks. You can beg for links on sites, but most will ignore such requests. So how do you successfully build backlinks? The secret is guest posting. Offer original, well-written content that is relevant and add value to the site you are pitching. Most sites are hungry for content, as content marketing drives traffic. What we are not hungry for is a random link to some unknown site.
Why don’t you post links for a fee?
We could, but we don’t. We believe our job is to offer valuable content relevant to why visitors came to our site. A link to another site only adds value to the other site, not the reader.
But what if it’s a link to an excellent resource?
Yeah, we get that one a lot. If the resource is useful, you should be able to articulate that in a guest post and convince us that it’s worth leaving this site (which is terrible for us BTW) to visit your site. But if you offer value to our readers, then we are happy to promote your site via a backlink to your site.

At Understanding eCommerce, we are always looking for new contributors; if you are a budding or even an experienced writer and are looking for somewhere on the web to showcase your work, then why not give us a try. If you have an article that is of interest to Understanding eCommerce’s community, then we want to hear about it.
The success of Understanding eCommerce is directly connected to the success of our clients. Our clients may not have a full technical understanding of websites, code, and search engine optimization. Still, they should always be informed, understand the logic behind the design or SEO efforts, and feel they can ask questions on any level of understanding.
Our goal is to give clients websites and online stores that are simple to manage, so they can focus on growing their businesses.
We show you the products and ideas that we have used on our websites, as well as some of the tips and tricks for other independent sources. We will introduce to you some of our services and how we can help you develop your successful eBusiness should you require.
You are free to use any of the information you find on this site and in our newsletter without cost or obligation. But, if you do need help from someone – we hope you will give us a call!
We know it takes more than a pretty home page to launch a successful site. We emphasize planning, research, and critical analysis. And once it’s launched, we work with you to develop the content and optimize the website.
