Scribe Makes SEO Simple

Writing content for SEO optimization can be tricky.  First and foremost it needs to be interesting content of value to your target market.  Sure, you  can optimize generic content and even drive traffic to your site but if it is not compelling – the traffic bounces (leaving after viewing a single page) indicating the site isn’t relevant to what they were looking for.  If you take the time to write something, make sure if provides value to your target market.

Secondly, why are you attracting this traffic?  We often get so caught up in driving traffic, we forget why we are doing it in the first place.  Most of us are ultimately trying to make a sale – either of product or services.  How does what you are writing contribute to the goal?  Obviously,  a post about the virtues of your new product line is self explanatory.  But promoting services isn’t always as easy.  Yes, you can explain services – you’re a bookkeeper – got it – YAWN.  Or you can offer friendly financial advice and the reader concludes you know stuff and therefore might be a reliable source for their bookkeeping needs – BETTER.

Thirdly, interesting content results in links from other sites to your content (backlinks) or Likes or +1 – these are the holy grails of Search Engine Optimization.  While you could beg and plead for other sites to link to you – why would they?  Unless your content is relevant and adds value to their reader base.  Finding, relevant sites can be a chore.

Finally, there is structure.  What is your keyword density? How many links are there and where are they positioned in the article?  How many words are in your title  and do they include your primary keywords without exceeding sixty characters?  If this is the paragraph that starts to make your head hurt – you are not alone.  SEO can complex, but there are tools to help.
